The trash was blocked at a barrage in north-eastern Hungary,
Laszlo Kothay said.
The garbage, including tree trunks and illegally dumped communal
waste, covered some 2,500-3,000 square-metres of the water surface
and drifted on the Tisza from the Bodrog and Uzh rivers after a
flooding on its tributaries earlier this month in Ukraine, state
secretary Laszlo Kothay said.
Hungary plans to bill Ukraine for the cleanup, estimated to cost
about 5-10 million forints (EUR 20,000-40,000),Kothay said.
