All parliamentary group leaders have been sent impact studies on
the various tax proposals, including one published last week by
former finance minister Lajos Bokros, Gyurcsany said. (Bokros was
the architect of the first Socialist-led government’s austerity
package in 1994-1998.)
The party groups have several weeks to prepare their proposals.
The finance ministry will analyse these proposals and prepare
feasibility studies, Gyurcsany added.
In the future, the government will propose parliamentary
sessions to debate planned changes in the education system and a
scheme to sell stakes in state-owned companies.
