The Competition is held in honour of Russian-born Rudolf Nureyev
(1938-1993), one of the greatest ballet dancers of the 20th century.
The contest seeks to promote the artistic performance of the new
generations of dancers by challenging them to conduct passages
selected from classical productions.
The jury of international experts will be headed by renowned
Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya.
The Grand Prix Rudolf Nureyev of 10,000 dollars for the best
male dancer will be handed over in a gala event at the Budapest
Opera on March 10.
