Balatonlelle Yacht Club offers relaxation and recreation for all
An apartment on the shore with a view of the shimmering water of Lake Balaton with your own yacht anchored not far away – that is a luxury that the Balatonlelle Yacht Club is making more accessible this summer. The Yacht Club is attracting guests with an extensive range of programmes and special offers.
The Balatonlelle Yacht Club (BLYC) is an apartment complex with two main buildings and many small apartment buildings. “In total we have 153 apartments, of which however just 72 are owned by BLYC. The rest are privately owned,” explained Zsófia Kovács, the Yacht Club’s sales manager.
The decor is sophisticated and modern. The style is minimalist without lacking charm and suits single guests, couples and families alike. The latter are one of the most important target groups of the complex. The idea is for both parents and children to be able to relax.
Playgrounds and play areas will keep young guests amused and the Yacht Club is even planning to employ entertainers this summer. While parents are unwinding, professional babysitters can take care of their children. During the sailing events kids can paint and do arts and crafts on the shore.
We also organise programmes for our older guests so that they don’t get bored if they don’t necessarily want to sail,” Kovács said. There is a sailing school so that children can also join in.
Through the yacht rental company East Craft it is possible to rent yachts for a fairly short time and simply try out the sport with the whole family. The Yacht Club also offers a sandy beach, a heated outdoor pool with bar and a playground that was renovated last year and meets EU standards.
“Of course guests are not limited to the complex. We have joined up with some companies in the region, so that we can offer optional programmes such as journeys to Rádpuszta, where it is possible to go riding, visits to wine cellars and boat trips,” the sales manager said.
Both foreign and Hungarian guests are warmly welcomed. “We have been working together with two German travel agencies and one Belgian agency, as well as, of course as with several Hungarian offices. This year a Dutch travel agency is also sending guests to us,” Kovács said.
The occupancy rate is relatively high. While last year the apartment complex was 70% full, this year the owners are anticipating an increase of 10%! The complex is hoping to attract guests with its wide range of programmes and special offers. “For a week’s stay from Saturday to Saturday we are giving a discount of 20% off the price,” the sales manager said.
The harbour has an even better occupancy rate. All of the 160 berths in the harbour of the BLYC are already taken this summer. The yachts can even stay in the harbour in winter. “Thanks to a special system we can prevent the water from freezing in the harbour, so the yachts can remain. That saves our customers time and money.” The only other place on Lake Balaton offering such a possibility is the Marina Port of Balatonkenese.
If the weather is not playing along or guests would simply like a change they can retire to the Yacht Club’s large wellness area with a jacuzzi, massage pool, the sauna, swimming pool and steam bath and enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Hungarian Sea through the glass walls.
