Two policemen have been found guilty of psychological accessory to a crime in a ruling by the Capital District Court. According to the decision the officers failed to act when their colleagues were beating and kicking a handcuffed man at a protest in 2006. The court noted in its verbal justification that policemen cannot take revenge on citizens already processed as a result of their alleged criminal action because this would turn the country into a police state. The officers were put on one- and two-year probation but both said they will file an appeal.
