Music, wine and food await visitors to the 20th International Gastroblues Festival from 1 to 7 July in Paks. Numerous bands from across Europe will perform. This year’s star guest is guitar virtuoso Al Di Meola, whose new album Beatles and More pays homage to the famous Liverpudlian band.
Another performer will be American singer Dana Fuchs, who has dedicated herself to blues. The line-up also includes such names as Collegium Musicum, Eric Sardinas, Andrea Braido, Fulvio Feliciano and Nathaniel Peterson. Hungary will be represented by Boom Boom, the Varga János Project, Sonia and the Soulbreakers, and others.
The festival will include smaller club concerts by the likes of Sonny and his Wild Cows, Mojo Workings and Joint Venture. A highlight of Gastroblues will be the church concert on Saturday 6 June in the Evangelical Church, at which many of the artists will play together unplugged.
On Sunday 7 July festival-goers, chefs and winemakers will head to ESZI Park for the annual cooking contest and festival football. Musical entertainment will be provided on the open-air stage by performers including the Paks Big Band, Jazz Kaláka and Mihály Ernõ, Yasya and András Petruska.
