On the first day of the 2014 summer schedule, passengers and the representatives of Budapest Airport already had a new flight to celebrate. The first flight operated by Norwegian low-cost carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle landed on runway II 15 minutes ahead of schedule. As is now traditional, the Airport Fire Service welcomed the newcomer with a water canon salute on the edge of the apron. After passing underneath the triumphal arch of water, the Boeing 737-800 parked on the designated stand. During the current schedule period, Norwegian will commute between London and Budapest on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays but this could increase if there is demand.
