Turkey’s first and leading low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines will start flying between Sabiha Gökcen International Airport and Budapest Airport four times a week from 16 July, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The white-livery aircraft will leave Istanbul at 10.15am and arrive in Budapest at 11.20am after a two-hour flight. With a turnaround time of 40 minutes Pegasus planes will leave Budapest Airport at noon and arrive in Istanbul at 3.05pm.
“Budapest Airport is delighted to welcome the start of flights between Istanbul and Budapest by Pegasus Airlines, as we have been working together for a long time to launch this new service,” Budapest Airport chief commercial officer Kam Jandu said. “The schedule offered by Pegasus complements existing services on the route and meets the needs of both business passengers and tourists. Turkey’s biggest city on the border between Europe and Asia is not only a great tourist destination but also the commercial centre of the rapidly growing Turkish economy. The new flights will also help to further develop economic ties between Turkey and Hungary.”
The service will connect Budapest to 38 destinations via Istanbul with one-way tickets to Turkey’s number one city already available on the Pegasus website (www.flypgs.com), from EUR 36.99.
Travellers can find connections in Istanbul to 22 cities within Turkey and 16 international destinations: Almaty, Bahrain, Beirut, Bishkek, Doha, Donetsk, Dubai, Kharkiv, Krasnodar, Kuwait, North Cyprus, Lviv, Mineralnye Vody, Omsk, Tbilisi and Tel Aviv.
