Ruling party Fidesz has retained its strong lead while radical nationalist Jobbik occupies second place, a poll by Ipsos shows. Whereas the Socialist Party is weakened it still captures the biggest support on the left wing, the survey found. Since the European parliamentary election on 25 May only the Socialists have seen waning support, declining three percentage points to 8% among all voters in the June poll. Fidesz on 37% and Jobbik on 12% were both unchanged. The Democratic Coalition led by Ferenc Gyurcsány added a point to stand at 4% while E-PM headed by Gordon Bajnai stayed on 2%. Green party LMP had the backing of 3%. Among decided voters, Fidesz captured 58%, Jobbik 18%, the Socialists 10%, Democratic Coalition 6% and E-PM and LMP both 4%. The three left-wing parties have a stronger base in the capital and show their weakness in the countryside.
