Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has urged the start of European Union and NATO accession talks with Macedonia after receiving an award of the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD). The award named after renowned Macedonian freedom fighter Goce Delchev was granted by Metodija A. Koloski , the president of the UMD board. Orbán said at the awards ceremony that Macedonia is well prepared, has dedicated itself to EU and NATO membership, and has completed the necessary tasks. Koloski said the award was in recognition of Orbán’s support and help in Macedonia’s integration aspiration. UMD, which has its headquarters in Washington, DC, is an international non-governmental organisation promoting the interests and needs of Macedonians around the world.
As a greek let me say Orban is a bigot that pretends not to notice the former Yugoslavians transformation into “ancient Macedonians” and accompanying irredentism. Orban’s behavior is effectively an unprovoked act of war by the Hungarian government against the Greek people.
