MVM NET, the telecommunications unit of the state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM), has called a tender to build a nationwide mobile network. MVM NET won a 450MHz frequency block last spring and has twenty months to complete the nationwide network, which it costs at HUF 12.8 billion. It has committed to bring coverage to nine big cities and the country’s main roads within eight months.
