Hungary’s gross consolidated public debt was 77.3% of economic output at the end of 2014, unchanged from the end of 2013, a first reading published by the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) showed. In nominal terms, gross consolidated public debt rose by HUF 1,436 billion, or EUR 4.7 billion, to HUF 24,521 billion. The net issues raised the public debt by HUF 848 billion, the weakening of the forint raised the total by HUF 530 billion forints.
