Roxette has existed since 1986, resisting changing fashions and staying true to themselves. Early fans have grown from teens to parents but they will likely still be there on May 19 when the Swedish pop duo performs in Budapest.
Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson are on tour through Europe from May 10 to August 22. Reports say the two musicians, who are almost at pension age, have not lost any of their energy. Gessle’s guitar riffs are no less powerful and Fredriksson’s voice has become even riper and clearer. Prepare for goosebumps when you listen to her singing hits such as “Listen To Your Heart”.
They share the stage with their musicians, since the born-to-be performers have never liked singing to playback. The stage decoration is conservative, rather than overwhelming the two pop stars with a huge light show or half-naked dancers. With almost three decades of pop business behind them, they know how to fill a stage.
Roxette will not only play their classics, they will perform songs from the albums “Charm School” released in 2011 and “Travelling” from 2012. There should be plenty to sing along with.
