Celia Muñoz, Iberia’s head of sales for Europe and Africa, commented: “We’re delighted to open the Budapest-Madrid route, which completes our network in Central Europe. The Hungarian capital is a very popular destination among Spanish tourists, thanks to its rich history, gastronomy and cultural life. The new route also vastly improves Hungary’s connections with our other destinations in Spain and our Latin American network.”
Kam Jandu, chief commercial officer for Budapest Airport, said: “We are very pleased that Spain’s national carrier has returned to the vital Madrid trunk route. We’re all really looking forward to working with Iberia this summer, a year that is already promising extensive further growth for us.”
To mark the launch of the Budapest route, Iberia is offering customers in Hungary promotional fares to a number of its destinations starting at HUF 35,900.
