Design Terminal and Mercedes-Benz Hungary will join forces this autumn to bring Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Central Europe to life. Some 50 designers will be showcasing their latest collections at the event in Várkert Bazár on October 10-11.
Design Terminal and Mercedes-Benz Hungary signed a strategic cooperation agreement this year. The resulting Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Central Europe has every chance of joining the ranks of the world’s top international fashion events, rendering Hungary more attractive to members of the global fashion scene. The event also has the potential to offer Central Europe’s most promising talent an opportunity to take the stage in front of a broader industry audience.
“Mercedes-Benz is unique among automobile manufacturers in its worldwide strategic-level support of fashion, having stood behind top fashion events for 20 years now,” Ingo Fröhlich, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Hungary, said. The company considers the event series particularly important because they see it as a fashion forum of regional significance, he said.
Design Terminal’s objective is to provide young designers a chance to shine while also exploring and developing entrepreneurial skills and competencies. The event series includes the final of this year’s Gombold újra! talent search – the next milestone in the competition’s five-year history. Design Terminal supports business development on an international level: this year, designers from Serbia and Croatia will join their Visegrád Four counterparts showcasing their collections at the event in Várkert Bazár.
In keeping with the traditions of its long-standing collaboration with Hungarian Interchurch Aid, Design Terminal will donate all ticket proceeds from the weekend to support the organisation’s activities.
