The opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) has called on the government to create a public database of people with a criminal record for sexual offences. This would enable parents to check on people working with their children, DK deputy Lajos Olah has said. Referring to a sex-abuse scandal surrounding László Kiss, who recently resigned under pressure as head of the national swimming federation, Olah said “people earlier sentenced for a sexual crime can actually be found in any job now”. DK also wants an ad-hoc committee set up to investigate crimes against young athletes.
