“We are aiming for no less than becoming the best catering service provider in Hungary.” Stephan Interthal presented Kempinski Hotel’s new service with these self-confident words. “The Kitchen Caters” brings the luxury hotel’s technical precision and open-minded hospitality to all kinds of events.
Interthal got the idea to found the brand last year. “We catered the most prestigious event of the last decade in Budapest at that time: an Indian wedding with 450 guests that lasted three days and took place in the Ethnographic Museum, the Budapest Railway Museum and at the Buda Castle.
“On the last day we were surprised by a storm and we had to move the celebration into the hotel instantly. The ballroom, which was already prepared for a business meeting the following day, had to be changed into a disco in the shortest time possible. Everything went well and the guests stayed at the party until 7 in the morning.”
At this point Interthal realised that the knowledge and experience already gathered by the hotel for event catering had to be capitalised. “The Kitchen Caters” brand was born.
Tailored catering solutions
According to Interthal, however, the implementation was mainly the achievement of the professional team that stands behind the brand today, namely catering director Gábor Marosvölgyi, chef Károly Pintér, operations manager Ferenc Tóth and bar chef Attila Felhősi. The latter is responsible for the design of the unique and tailored catering menus that are varied within a broad range according to the actual event and the taste of the client.
Kempinski’s new catering service applies the same standards as in the hotel’s own catering: only ingredients of the highest quality from the best producers can be used, and everything is prepared with a lot of love in a kitchen that represents the latest in technology.
“The Kitchen Caters” offers an all-inclusive service package, which means that if desired, the supplier can even help with providing the location for the planned event. The clients are offered a catalogue of varied event locations, ranging from classical-festive, such as the Castle Garden Bazaar, Hungarian National Gallery or the Vigadó, modern urban venues such as the Hello Baby Bar or Millenáris Park, or rather special places such as the Gellért Bath or the Europa boat.
Other aspects of event planning, such as decoration or documentation of the event, can also be organised via the catering service.
The perfect drinks for every kind of occasion
The location could therefore also serve as proof of the professional and superb range of wines offered, which are also an important part of the high-class offer of the “The Kitchen Caters“. While it may be the client who makes the final decision, the employees of the catering service help them make a sound and well-informed choice, depending on the menu and type of event.
Kempinski has a good relationship with many first-class Hungarian wineries; besides Sauska the list includes Weninger, Kovács Nimród and Szent Tamás. Wine connoisseurs will be pleased to be able to raise the quality of their event with some rare drops.
“The Kitchen Caters” is the perfect supplier for those people who want perfection for their event – whether at one of the unusual locations that can be booked via “The Kitchen Caters”, at the office or simply at home. Its recipe for success is creativity, flexibility, love of detail and a talented organisation supported by many years of experience. However, quality has its price, of course, which is just as tailored as the offer itself.
