An essay is a sort of composition that presents the author’s argument, usually in some sort of essay type, but the exact definition is often obscure, encompassing a manner of composing, a newspaper, a book, an article, pamphlet, and a short story. Essays fall into one of 3 classes; persuasive article, analytical essay, or descriptive article. Analytical essays, on the other hand, are composed to present research findings and also are made to be both concise and precise. It typically starts with an introduction which gives background information about the writer and the theme of the essay. Then the expository section of the essay refers to an interesting or significant finding or research. The essay will then compare and contrast a couple of results or studies, depending upon its overall intent. Students should expect to read at least five essays for each class they take.
A literary analysis essay presents either a thesis statement or an interpretation of one or more literary works. The thesis statement is usually a major focus of the essay. The objective of this type of essay, much like all expository essays, is to present research findings in a purposeful way.
Another common kind of essay employed for college writing is your descriptive essay.
